Common questions
Is a Digital Product Passport legally required today?
Not yet for most products. The EU’s ESPR regulation is in force, but the product-by-product rules are still being finalised. Batteries are first, with a firm date of February 2027; textiles, furniture and others are expected to follow between 2027 and 2030. YrPass lets you get ahead of those deadlines and give customers transparency now.
Which products will need a passport first?
The EU’s current working plan prioritises textiles and apparel, furniture, tyres, mattresses, and iron, steel and aluminium products, alongside batteries, which already have a fixed date.
What happens when the EU finalises the technical rules?
We update YrPass to match, and your data comes with you. Passports already support custom fields, so category-specific requirements can be added to your products the day they are announced.
Do my customers need an app to view a passport?
No. Scanning the QR code with any phone camera opens a normal web page. No app, no account, and in the visitor’s own language.
What happens to my QR codes if I stop using YrPass?
You can export all your data as JSON or CSV at any time from Settings. Passport pages stay online while your account exists; if you delete your account, the pages and printed QR codes stop working, which is why the export comes first.
How much does it cost?
The free plan includes 3 product passports with QR codes, labels and scan statistics. The Pro plan (€19/month) adds unlimited passports, CSV import and priority support.
